My Life Monday - Pet Peeves

I'm really looking forward to reading your post today! Pet Peeves can be so funny sometimes. So share and then leave your link below!

#1 - Mispronouncing or misspelling my name. It's Rachelle, pronounced Ra-shell. Not Rachel or Raquel.

#2 - Flyer's and other things left on my car. If you leave it on my car, I can guarantee you are not getting my business.

#3 - Creative spellings for kids or business names. I'm not taking my child to a place called Kiddie Kuts or something else equally ridiculous. And please do not spell a nice name like Emily in this manner - EmmaLeigh.

#4 - Forwarded emails! A simple annoyance, but it drives me crazy, especially if that is all they send. I delete without reading and if that's all a person sends, I block them (like my in laws). If you want to write me a message, great, but please don't just send me one forward after another.

#5 - Lights on when I am trying to sleep. Seriously, I don't sleep well with lights on. Thankfully Mark makes it really dark if he is going to stay up later than me.

#6 - Feeling obligated to answer the phone. I'm not a big phone person. I pick up if I want to talk, otherwise I let the machine get it. Some people get irritated by that because they hear it ringing and I ignore it. I just remind them that just because it rings does not mean I have to answer it.

So those are a few of my pet peeves. Share yours too and leave your link. Next week's topic - Somebody you love. Since it's Valentines next week, highlight somebody you love and care about (doesn't have to be a spouse).

I hate lights on when your trying to sleep. My partner frequently feels the need to read in bed with the lights on when I'm trying to sleep. Its not right!

What about the improper use of carseats? I think that is a HUGE Pet Peeve for both of us! :) Love you!

I'm way guilty of the lights on while I sleep. Too many years of falling asleep reading or being afraid while sleeping by myself. Guess we wouldn't make happy bedfellows.

I am not a big fan of the emails either! I am so glad you are doing MLM again!!!
This is fun!

I just got a bunch of forwarded emails this morning. Grr, all of them come from people who are 60+ years old. I just don't have the heart to tell them what I really think, or point them to snopes.

It doesn't stop me from GRR'ing though while I delete...

While I don't approve of the cutesy spelling, I do patronize Kiddie Kandids, and probably will for a long time.

Good list.

Me too. Everything you said. The part about forwarded emails that most gets me, though, is the repeated "Forward Forward Forward" and all the junk on the top and bottom of the "essential" parts.

Thanks for the chance to complain!

I'm a selective phone answerer myself.

Did I ever tell you my best friend in Jr High was also a Rachelle? She loathed the mispronunciations too.

I LOVE caller ID. I don't answer too often either.

This was a fun one. I didn't think I had too many, and next thing you know, I have a ton written down. Pretty funny.

I have a "Do Not Disturb" function on my phone. I use it all of the time. I hate feeling like I am under the control of the phone. It rings...I blindy follow.

Oh, I totally get you on the strange names.

AMEN, AMEN, AMEN!! I could say all of your list, and be fine. I was really looking forward to doing this, but BLOGGER! (Can you hear the disdain!?) is being extremely STOOPID!! (Can I misspell that word?)

I'm not a phone person either, but I feel obligated to answer it when it rings. I also feel obligated to return calls as soon as I receive a message. It's a pet peeve of mine when my husband doesn't return calls right off!
This was a fun post to read and write about :-)

I didn't post but I had fun reading all of the other posts! Great topic!

I agree with you on the phone! I don't use my cell phone all that much. If you want to reach me call me on my home phone. That annoys many a friend, but hey-it's my phone, for MY convience!

Yesterday I forgot to check a pocket and did a load of laundry with a tissue in it! Grr!

Small children out too late and then getting in trouble for misbehaving (esp at resturants.)

Cars and esp. motorcycles that weave in traffic. Do they really think they are saving all that much time!?

Parents who need to talk to me about all their personal business after I have already answered what I thought would be a straight forward question. I have certain students where I dread returning a parent call because I know I am going to hear a 10 minute drama about something.

Guess that is it for now!

Pregnant sixteen year old girls who roll their eyes at me when I give them information about their labor...I'm a labor and delivery nurse.

I mean, do they not realize that I'm the one who brings the pain meds?

I completely agree with #6. I really hate phones!

I'll post mine now too!

My daughters name is Rachel, I pronounce it "The storm of a two year old in my life"

Loved your list, I am NOT a slave to my phone either! I pick the time I'm on it, it does not.
I love having personalized ringtones for certain people, too!
