The Great First Birthday Blog

We celebrated Cam's birthday on Saturday. Here are some highlight pictures. I won't post them all, because I took close to 100. *blushing*
This is the cake and some of his presents. To go along with our "Very Hungry Caterpillar" theme, we made a caterpillar cake. It took a long time to decorate, but it was worth it.

Close up of the cake.

Cam being pushed around by his cousin on one of his many ride ons that he received as gifts.

I don't think Cam knew what to make of the whole present thing. He didn't smile once during the process and he wouldn't rip them open.

Camden got full of cake and started dumping it off the tray and onto the floor. What you can't see is the dog below licking up all his offerings. Our poor dog was covered in crumbs and yellow frosting by the end.

Yum, cake!

Cam loved the balloons! He also loved when we popped them yesterday afternoon.

We had a fun time! I cannot believe my boy is 1 tomorrow!!

Oh, he is so cute!! Hello!! You make an amazing cake!! That is soooo creative. I feel bad, I am a total slacker in the birthday category. I am already mentally gearing myself up for Myles' second birthday! It looks like Cam had a blast!

Looks like a fun birthday party! What an awesome cake! I love the picture of Cam with his cake and he looks like he's thinking hard as he rubs his chin with his fingers and his other hand on his hip...what should we do about this mess? or better yet...what other messes can I make? Cute! Thanks for sharing the pictures.

Awww. How cute! That is a great cake!! He sounds like a typical one year old to me. Neither of mine could have cared less about their presents on their first birthdays, either. And he looks like he was a pro with the cake!! Times goes fast, huh? He's such a cutie!!

Wow! That cake is impressive. I have to admit, I came to see this post and get some ideas for my son's upcomign B-day but I am not at all confident that I could do that. Well done. And Happy Birthday to Camden.
