Simple Pleasures Monday - Tax Returns
It's that dreaded time of year again. Tax time! Will you get a return or will you have to pay? I know for many of you a tax return may be something to count on each year. But for the first time in our married life, we're getting a decent tax return. The first three years, we had to pay taxes. Last year, because of buying a house, we got a small return. This year, we're getting enough to have some fun with. I'm pretty excited about it. We can pay off a debt. And we're buying a California King bed. With a son who likes to be in bed with us when he is sick, and with a husband that is 6'8", we're spoiling ourselves (actually just Mark because he fits end to end right now on a regular queen or king bed). So much fun! So that's my simple pleasure of the day. If you're getting a tax return, what are you doing with it?

Wow, 6'8"! I can't even imagine anybody that tall! Hubby and I are midgets compared to your hubster! If we get some money back, we usually roll it over till thenext year... boring, I know, but it takes the stress away with worrying about having to pay quaterly...
Glad you will be having some fun this year!
We have a Cal King! I love it!!! I don't know what we ever did without it.
We are buying a fence with our tax return. Or I should say we are buying a portion of our fence with our tax return since it is a crappy return and an expensive fence. So much for keeping money in our savings!
I'm paying rent with my tax return! YAAAAAY!
We squeeze into a double bed!and my dh is 6'1 and hits top and bottom. We would get lost in a normal King, it would be fabulous! I have no idea what a cali king is but i am guessing its HUGE!
As for tax. Our financial year ends in June so we still have a while but this year we are paying off the last of our debts....the student loans!! yay. can't wait!
I have a tall husband and a Cal King bed. It rocks! I always thought I'd like a smaller bed for cuddling, but dh insisted on the monster bed and now I know he was right.
We're paying down a credit card. Blech.
I love Tax returns! And I'd love to have a California King. Sounds like it will be perfect for your hubby.
We're not doing anything fun with ours. Debt and hospital co-pays.
Wow he is tall.We have a king and we aren't very tall. Are tax return paid off some credit cards and we also bought a front loader washer and dryer.

Fun for you! It will do wonders for your sleep! We just got our tax return on Friday. YAY! We are doing Claifornia closets in our closet, redecorating our bathroom, and sticking the rest in savings. We always get a great tax return.....here's my only tax tip .....have two babies - not twins - in one year. We were surprisingly blessed in 2003....
Brooke was born Jan. 16,2003 and Bryce was born Dec. 16,2003. No kidding. Not recomended for the mother's sanity, but sure is great for the tax return! Happy spending!
We're getting a new mattress. YAY!!! I'm tired of having a sore back!
I dream of the day that we can get a California King! Pure joy. Our kids generally do not sleep in our bed, but on those rare nights of self-preservation it would be nice to not have a toddler's feet in my face. Doing taxes is no biggy for us and so far, we have not had to pay in 13 years of marriage. My husband is a finance/accountant guy and he actually likes doing taxes. Congrats on the new bed, again.
We're not getting one, however if we were- it woul be to pay off medical bills. :)
We got a tax return (even though we always try to have a "get no refund, pay no extra taxes" philosophy with taxes), and it was pre-budgeted for the adoption. No better way to spend the bucks!
When we were first married, we slept in my full bed. It lasted barely three months and DH was begging for a new one. But we only upgraded to queen. Enjoy the space!
