Mr. Sun - We need to talk

Dear Mr. Sun,

Is it all right if I call you that - Mr. Sun? I'm not sure if you are male or female, so I took a guess. Maybe I should be politically correct and say "To whom it may concern in the sun-o-sphere". We'll just run with Mr. unless you tell me otherwise.

Now that we got that all sorted out, can we talk about the heat? I realize your job is to heat the world and I appreciate it. You do wonderful things with those rays. But don't you think you are laying it on a bit thick right now? My poor little home is reaching temperatures of 80 degrees inside. And that's just the main level. Upstairs, where we sleep, it's much hotter. And I haven't even cooked indoors the past few nights. Can you imagine how hot it would get if I did?

Remember Mark - the big tall guy? He thinks he is melting if it gets over 72 inside. Once it hits 75, it's all over for him. He's not doing so well at night right now. And Camden? The poor kid is having the hardest time sleeping. He's just too hot. I'm kind of not sleeping so well myself with the heat and the two of them.

I realize we haven't put up our air conditioning units yet so it's partly our fault. We plan to rectify that situation tonight. But even the weather man says you are a little extreme right now. He says you're not usually this warm this early in the season.

I really like how you provide warmth and all that. And your lovely rays help my flowers grow. So I'm not asking you to disappear or go away or anything like that. But if you could kick it down a notch, I would be most appreciative.

Your ever loving friend,

Rachelle

Can you leave a request for Mr. Sun for me too? I'm in the same boat! At least the nights cool off...just until Mr. Sun comes out again! Good luck on installing your A/C!!

and while Rachelle has your attention- do you have to shine into our bedroom so stinking early? We have a toddler who thinks daylight means playtime.

Do you know the Mr. Sun song? Now I can't get it out of my head, lol!

You know you're in for it when it gets this hot this soon!

Thanks Rachelle, I'm gonna have that song in my head all the day long now!:)

I hear ya - can we have a few more weeks of SPRING???? Or atleast the pools could open so we could go somewhere to cool off!

That was just too funny! I was yelling bad words at the sun last summer!

Here's to the sun god, he sure is a fun god! RA RA RA!

just so's you know, that, right there, is one of my all time favotite bumper stickers ever. EVER! Over 10 years since reading it, and I still giggle at the thought of it. And this post made me think of it. And giggle yet again. So thank you, Rachelle, thank you. And good luck with that temp thing, too.

ps: "favotite" = "favorite" in my special retarded kind of world. spelling. sigh.

So, that's where he went! We've had rain, rain and more rain. My garden is loving it, but my house bound toddler isn't (and either is her mommy!) Wishing you cooler weather, and I love the blog name change!

We need all of the people on the East Coast to start huffing and puffing to the West, lets see if mass cooperation wouldn't work to make those rain clouds pay us a visit. My poor plants are melting as are my rosey cheeked chitlins.

Hey Rachelle--having that song stuck in my head is almost as bad as "Feliz Navidad"...I hope that is a PAYBACK for the sunshine that is now bouncing around in my brain!

You can tell Mr. Sun to send some rays our way. It has been raining a lot here.

Maine mom...if you've got Mr Rain there ...send him here! We are desperate!

It got to about 100 in my house this past summer, i'm so glad its cooling down now.

Amen!

I relate with the hot hubby and baby... cranky boys when they are too warm.

We just got the swamp cooler working properly last night... I think we may opt to get the AC installed this summer... of course I said that last summer and I was pregnant!

When you get that all figured out in your neck of the woods could you straighten him out a little further south? Thanks, preciate it.

Please don't wish the sun away, here in Seattle we see so little of it :)

Send that letter my way, too. 87 for a high today here. I like the sun, but could handle it if it wasn't quite so hot yet.
