Blogger block

I'm not sure what is going on this week. I have a whole list of ideas for blogs. I write blogs in my head at night. Things happen and I think, "This is so bloggable." But then when it comes time to actually blog, I have brain farts. My brain just shoots it all out my ears and I can't get it back. Every day this week it has been a struggle to blog. I love my blog! I love to read other blogs! I love the blogging world. So what is wrong with me? Why when I am in front of the screen does my brain squirt any intelligent or even not so intelligent idea out of my head? I think I could blame it on tiredness, but I've been tired before and been ok.

Have you experienced blogger block? How long did it last? And how did you overcome it? Tell me your blogger block stories if you have them.

I'm taking a short weekend break. Hopefully next week I will be back to my blogging self. Until then, don't abandon me, my loyal readers and commenters.

Get a little notebook and tuck it into your back pocket with a pencil. When an idea pops into your head, or you think of a particularly clever turn of phrase, write it down. That way, when it comes time to sit down and write, you already have something to jump start you. I do that with stories.

yep, write it down. all the time.

(no. I don't. but i have the opposite problem. if we're being gross - and HEY, you started it with your 'brain farts' well, i have blog diarrhea.)

I have had the same problem this week. I think taking a break helps. I always take breaks on the weekend. I don't even read blogs on the weekend. It seems to help me.

And don't worry, we will still come back!

I just write things down when i get an idea. Sometimes when i am having a good week, I have plenty of ideas and don't need what i wrote down, sometimes I am as dry as a bone so I pull out an old idea. I have a million meme's I never answered when I got tagged, so I have those for back ups!

I will be here when you get back!

notes...yup.

spiffy links or a photojournal show and tell. It's easy for me though because the primary reason I blog is to record those funny thing the Chaos girls do, or what my life is like so they can know for when/if they are a mommy. In other words... I just share a slice o' life.

Enjoy the break! I am having a problem commenting, lol.

I agree with the making notes. I need to do that more often. Sometimes I think we just try to hard to make a blog interesting, or funny, or thought provoking, when we just need to be ourselves.

When I taught writing to teens and adults, we told them they couldn't live without a writes notebook - just like vanessa described. And I also vote for pics instead!

I have to write things down that happen during during the day that I want to blog because if I don't than I will forget everything I wanted to say when it's time to write...I'm glad I'm not the only one that takes notes!

A break is sometimes necessary, I think. But I also keep a little notebook handy on my kitchen counter, because I invariably forget blog topics if I don't write them down.

Isn't it odd, though, to start filtering your life through your blog? I mean, I walk around thinking to myself, this is definitely a blog topic, or, now, how would I describe this on my blog? I'm not sure yet if that's a good thing or a bad thing.

I have had it bad this week. Totally sucks! I try to be creative but it seems to be lacking

Happens to me all the time. I keep thinking I should write down the lists of ideas when they're fresh, and then just exploit the list when I've got nothing left to give. Also, my mom says that if a woman doesn't fill herself, she has nothing left to pour into the pitchers of others. Take some time to R&R and we'll be here when you come back.

A picture is worth a thousand words. A million if it's of Cam!
